Does a Ganges river cruise go to Varanasi?
Some do. Most multi-night Ganges cruises sail the lower river from Kolkata, and their packages add Varanasi by air for land nights. A few long voyages sail the river itself between Varanasi and Kolkata. Separately, in Varanasi you can take short boat cruises along the ghats.
What is the best time for a Ganges river cruise?
The cooler, drier months from about October to March. Multi-night cruising generally pauses in the hot season and the summer monsoon.
Is Varanasi suitable for first-time visitors to India?
